Welcome to M3 Students!
We want you to know right from the beginning that we believe students can lead others by being an example of what it looks like to follow Jesus. So often students are viewed as “our future” and we suppose that is correct in some ways, but we view them as Right Here and NOW.
NRG is the type of place where ANY student can come. Pronounced “energy,” this is our main weekly meeting for middle school students. We encourage you to bring every friend you know. We believe God is calling us to be more intentional about getting into the rhythms of UP, IN & OUT. NRG is still filled with craziness, games and talks, but each week will focus on one of the rhythms of UP, IN & OUT.
We want you to know right from the beginning that we believe students can lead others by being an example of what it looks like to follow Jesus. So often students are viewed as “our future” and we suppose that is correct in some ways, but we view them as right here and NOW.
OUR GOAL FOR M3 STUDENTS
Our goal for the students, as disciples of Jesus, is to have an ever growing relationship UP with the Father, IN with the Body of Christ and OUT with the world.
UP – YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
Jesus has a relationship UP with God, the Father. UP represents the growing relationship that we have with God. Jesus said, “I don’t do anything unless I see my heavenly Father doing it.” Everything Jesus said and did was based on his relationship UP with His Father. We are meant to have that same UP relationship with God the Father.
IN – YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS
Jesus had a relationship IN with his disciples. He said, “Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” They followed and stayed with Him. Jesus saw them as more than disciples; He saw them as friends. He walked with them, ate with them, reflected as a group and engaged in dialogue. Everyone who believes in Jesus is part of “His Body.” We are made to have a relationship IN with others in the Body of Christ.
OUT – YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE WORLD AROUND YOU
Jesus had a relationship OUT with the world. Jesus and his disciples went out to their wider community, letting their lives speak louder than words. We are made to be a part of God’s mission and are sent to serve and love people in Jesus’ name. We are made to have loving relationships OUT with the world around us.
YOUR LIFE IS YOUR MISSION
This is a phrase you’ll here often in our student ministry. In a nutshell it means that Jesus has us on a mission with him every minute of every day. That mission is to be like him by connecting with our Father in heaven, having healthy relationships and loving and serving people around us. It means that our life – who we are, how we live, the way we love those around us – is the mission.
